Final Picture

Artist Statement

How can a car take us to places faster than we can walk? How does a plane take us faster across the seas than a boat? Why are most humans not afraid of these machines? The real question is; Why am I so afraid?

I’m afraid of trains. Not the part about being on a train, but getting on a train. Trains are fast. one wrong move and someone could slip in, or they could purposefully decide to jump in. My dad tells me that it’s happened more than once. Someone sees the lights coming from the train and they jump on the tracks. Dead within seconds. Why would people do this to themselves?

I took different angles of trains because I did not know what angle I wanted.  The inside of the train didn’t show people, so I couldn’t use it. The straight on view wasn’t interesting. The aerial view was the best angle. It shows a lot of people and the train is blurred in the front because of how fast it’s going. It shows the terrifying speeds that trains can get to. I made the picture look vintage because it reminds me of a newspaper clipping that would describe a gruesome train accident.
