-Real name is Endre Friedmann

-To charge more money his girlfriend (Gerda Taro ) suggested changing his name.

-Originally Wanted to be a writer, but found a job as a photographer.

-1930=Went to School in Berlin for journalism and political science.

-When world war II happened came to America

-1936-1939=became a photo journalist

-Freelance photographer for Life and Time magazine

-The greatest War photographer: Most Known for the Spanish War, World War II, and D-Day

-First photographer to take close up pictures with 35-millimeter camera

-Has an award named after him, given to people for exceptional professional merrit.

-Joined Henri Cartier-Bresson, David Seymour, and George Rodger in Magnum (photographing agency)

-Died by stepping on a landmine during the French War
