It hurts to feel alone. Is it the choices that we make on a day to day basis that make us feel this way? Or is it something else? Feeling alone is completely different than someone actually being alone. Someone that has never had the feeling of going to a place they feel loved. Someone that’s never had a home.
Foster kids struggle with finding a home that will love them. They constantly have to move from one place to another. They can be screamed at and sometimes abused. The picture captures the emotions of how these kids feel.
I filled a backpack with a bunch of snack boxes like the kid was going to be gone for a long time. I had them sit at the end of a driveway like they were waiting for someone to come pick them up and deliver them to another house. They had different facial expressions, and I did different camera angles to show the background. The picture with the house in the background gave me more of a feeling that the kid was just kicked out. The kid was now alone, in the literal sense.
