Why do people give up when things get hard? They claim that it’s part of human behavior. That humans give up easily when things get hard or their stress levels get too high. There have been tons of quotes to inspire people to not give up. Some quotes help lift up people’s spirits, but some don’t.
My inspiration for the picture is quotes that are uninspiring. Quotes that don’t make people feel better about themselves. For example, “if you dig one ditch, you better dig two. Cause the trap you set, just may be for you.” In the picture, I demonstrated his by someone holding a shovel like they were going to dig a ditch.
The concept originally started as someone digging a hole for themselves to crawl into, but the idea didn’t leave much to the imagination. With someone walking with a shovel it makes more of an impact with people wondering what happened. If the person in the picture just dug a hole, or if they are on their wat to dig a hole. The picture is taken down a hill to show the physical decline of how the person is feeling. It is also raining, but it’s hard to tell. I darkened the picture to make more of a contrast with the persons bright blue jacket. The jacket shows that there is still light when everything else feels dark.
